October 1, 2008 – In a gesture in line with the upcoming season of giving, Rick Ford of Cinder Lakes Ranch has announced plans to assist in raising money for a worthy cause during the National Reining Horse Association Futurity, through December 6, at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.
According to Ford, Cinder Lakes Ranch is hosting a special Silent Auction, and all proceeds will go to benefit Rein In Cancer, a horse-industry-based program to aid in the fight against cancer.
Up for bid are breedings to three of the industry’s most elite stallions, including the chute fee, plus an embryo transfer at Cinder Lakes Ranch and Reproductive Center, which includes the flush and the recipient mare.
One breeding donated is to Great Resolve (Einstein), National Reining Horse Association Futurity, Derby, and National Reining Breeders Classic finalist, and sire of Einsteins Revolution, Great Sun Burst, and Smart Resolve. A breeding will also be auctioned to Jacs Electric Spark, NRHA Futurity and Derby and NRBC Open Finalist, and earner of nearly $80,000, and to Easy Otie Whiz, who has over $243,000 and was the 2006 USEF Open Reining Champion!
This phenomenal trio of stallions, coupled with an embryo transfer at one of the country’s best facilities, is sure to raise much-needed money for Rein In Cancer.
Rein In Cancer was founded in 2007 and has raised thousands of dollars through programs and fundraisers at large equine events. All money raised goes directly to fight cancer.
