August 3, 2011 – Three of the western industry’s leading riders have teamed up with Bob’s Custom Saddles to raise money for Rein In Cancer. Each of the men has recently won a major event, and each saddle that they won their title with will be auctioned off at a major event in 2011, with all proceeds going to Rein In Cancer. The first stop will be the biggest little city in the world – Reno, Nevada – for the National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity. Reigning Champion Tucker Robinson, who won his first Snaffle Bit Futurity Championship on Stylish Little Oak, owned by San Juan Ranch, will be on hand to auction his saddle.
The second saddle will be offered at auction during the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show. Russell Dilday and his horse, Topsails Rien Maker, made history when they won their third NRCHA World’s Greatest Horseman Championship in San Angelo, Texas. “Not only are we auctioning the saddle, but Topsails Rien Maker’s co-owner, Kevin Cantrelle, has agreed to match the auction proceeds up to $10,000,” noted Dilday.
The third and final saddle, that of 2010 National Reining Horse Association Futurity Champions Jordan Larson and Spooks Gotta Whiz, will be auctioned off during the NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Spooks Gotta Whiz is owned by Michell Anne Kimball.
‘We really appreciate Russell, Tucker, Jordan, and their owners for their generosity. We also thank Bob’s Custom Saddles, who will be gi’.Ang each of these men another saddle to use,” noted Shorty Koger, co-founder of Rein In Cancer. “We’re excited that these saddles will be offered to the public. We’re confident that this will raise a lot for our cause.”
